FAN FAVORITES ANDREA EVANS AND JOHN LOPRIENO
TO RETURN TO ABC DAYTIME'S "ONE LIFE TO LIVE" IN SEPTEMBER!

Fan favorites Andrea Evans and John Loprieno return to play beloved characters Tina Lord and Cord Roberts on ABC's "One Life to Live" in September. Both actors were last seen on "OLTL" in 2008 when they returned to celebrate the show's 40th Anniversary.

"Working with John is and always has been a pleasure," said Evans. "Our characters of Tina and Cord have always had an easy chemistry, and I am delighted that we will be able to bring them both to Llanview once again!"

"Working with Andrea was one of the high points of my acting career," said Loprieno. "Her work ethic, wonderful talent and incredible sense of humor were always appreciated on the set and in rehearsal. When I think of all the times I had fun on the set or interacting with people backstage, Andrea figures prominently in those memories."

Evans originated the role of Tina Lord in 1978 and played the popular troublemaker until 1990, receiving an Emmy® Award nomination for her wonderfully devious portrayal. In addition to reprising Tina on "OLTL," she currently plays the role of Tawny on "The Bold and the Beautiful," has also appeared on "The Young and the Restless," and had a long running role on "Passions." Evans has an impressive list of credits spanning film, primetime, radio and theatre, and she will soon be seen starring in the feature film "Hit List." Charitable work is also extremely important to her, and when she is not acting, she dedicates her time to such organizations as The City of Hope and numerous animal rights groups. Evans continues to reside in CA with her husband, Steve, and young daughter, Kylie Lyn.

Loprieno originated the role of Cord Roberts in 1986 and played the role until 1992. In 1993 he returned to the show and played the Buchanan heir until 1997, making periodic returns in the years following. He is currently Chairman of the Theatre Arts program at Moorpark College in Moorpark, CA, heading a robust department that produces three major productions every year as well as a thriving program of original student one-acts each semester. Loprieno is also directing "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum" that runs from July 21 to Aug 7 at Moorpark College, providing him the opportunity to work with his students and help them discover their potential as performers and scholars.

Emmy Award-winning "One Life to Live," created by Agnes Nixon, was launched July 15, 1968. Frank Valentini executive-produces. Ron Carlivati is the headwriter. The popular drama consistently ranks among the top five in the key demographic of Women 18-49. "One Life to Live" airs MONDAY-FRIDAY (2:00 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.

I am heartbroken over the cancellations of both AMC & OLTL. OLTL has been a huge part of my life & some of my oldest friends live & work in Llanview.

And, if at all possible, I would love to bring Tina back home where she belongs.

Exclusive interview with ‘B&B’s Trashy Swan Andrea Evans!

The Soapgeist: Dec. 20, 2010 By Nelson Branco

SOAPGEIST COVER STORY

The Vamp Diaries: Andrea Evans has more than one life to live on B&B!
No matter how old or cynical I get, I will never tire of picking up the phone and hearing my all-time favourite soap vixen, Andrea Evans, say, “Hello, Nelson … ” After a brief stint as Tawny on Y&R earlier this summer, Evans is back on B&B Dec. 29 and will continue to recur, the actress told TVGuide.ca exclusively last week. TV Guide Canada spoke with the ginger-haired goddess about Trashy Tawny, her new international film co-starring Joey Lawrence, and whether or not she’d return to One Life.

TVGuide.ca: It’s been a Tawny year! You first reprised the role of Amber’s gold-digging trashy mama bear on Y&R this summer; so many of us expected you’d make your way back to B&B.
Andrea Evans: Yeah, I kind of suspected, too, especially after Y&R happened. B&B called and I was free, so here I am!

TVG: How long are you on B&B this time around?
AE: I believe it’s open-ended!

TVG: Oh, good! I ask because B&B has a very large cast at the moment for a half-hour show, but you are vital in helping anchor Amber.
AE: Yeah, and I think Tawny is very different from all the characters on B&B. It’s nice to have some [variety].

TVG: I agree! What kind of trouble will Tawny be getting in to?
AE: That I don’t really know but you know with Tawny she will get into trouble. She wasn’t a saint while she’s been away from L.A. All I can say is Tawny’s hit on hard financial times. I mean, it’s not like she was in great financial shape before, but she’s dealing with much harder times like most of our country is at this time. Tawny’s hoping to recoup all of that via her daughter.

TVG: I hope Tawny finds love or sex this time around because Andrea Evans is infamous for putting the sex in daytime!
AE: I think she needs love, too!

TVG: She needs a Forrester; because that would kill two birds with one Tawny …
AE: That would be a very good solution for Tawny.

TVG: What was it like having to put on Tina Lord Roberts’ high heels a couple of years ago on One Life — your best and most popular role to date — and then throwing on Tawny’s dirt-poor sandals 10 years after leaving the role on your alma mater, Y&R, as a different character? Everything old is new again with you these days!
AE: It was like putting on an old glove; it kind of just always fits. What was a little weird was playing Tawny on Y&R because I used to play Patty there a long time ago. That was a little strange, but coming back to B&B was very welcoming and warm. Y&R was also very welcoming and comfortable. But since I didn’t act opposite any of my old Y&R co-stars, it almost felt like I was on a different show. I didn’t even get to act with Adrienne Frantz on Y&R because she had already left for B&B.

TVG: And B&B is creatively on fire these days so this is a perfect time for you to come back.
AE: Well, you know Brad [Bell] is just the best! I think he really does an amazingly good job with the show.

TVG: Have you been watching B&B? Brad is in the middle of telling a very gripping homelessness story.
AE: Yes, I know about the homeless story. I think it’s great and it sheds light on a huge problem in this country. I think the whole thing is fabulous.

TVG: Have you worked with Susan Flannery yet?
AE: We have in the past, but no, I haven’t worked or run into her yet. But I am looking forward to it. She is just wonderful.

TVG: Back to Y&R: You and Michelle Stafford were awesome together in your short scene as Tawny and Phyllis bitched it out.
AE: Ah thanks, I appreciate that very much.

TVG: Were you intimidated working with the two-time Emmy winner?
AE: No.

TVG: [Laughs] Good answer. Had you been watching Y&R?
AE: No, not really. I do tune in to my old shows to take a peek and see how everyone is doing; but no, I wasn’t aware of what was going on until I got there.

TVG: And what was it like working with your old boss, Paul Rauch, again on Y&R?
AE: I didn’t get to connect with Paul! He was on vacation when I was on! We have a knack for not running into each other when we’re in the same circle. When I was on Passions, Paul visited the set and of course it was the one day I was off! The same thing happened when I returned to One Life!

TVG: [Joking] You’re star-crossed lovers!
AE: I’m sure I’ll run into him soon since I’m right across the hall [where B&B and Y&R tapes at Television City Studios]. Paul’s great and he’s a classic. He deserves a lot of credit.

TVG: What have you been up to between your One Life, Y&R and B&B gigs?
AE: I actually have a theatrical film that is doing really well overseas called Hit List, which has a worldwide distribution deal. It will hit Canada and America sometime in the spring. It stars Joey Lawrence, John Savage and Shirly Brener. It’s a black comedy thriller. I fell in love with the script the moment I read it. The director is actually married to a Canadian lady! I play an ex-beauty queen trophy wife who is trying to push my daughter — I have a succession of onscreen daughters being played by beautiful blonde girls! — to find a man.

TVG: Do you find you are typecast as the vamp? I mean, if you’re going to be typecast, that’s not necessarily a bad thing …
AE: Yeah, in many ways I have played the same character my whole career. My characters are always money-grubbing and manipulative but they’re always fun. At this stage in my life, I am playing more ex-beauty queens/trophy wives. And that’s fine. I’m one of these lucky people who are always working. I am a happy woman.

TVG: You really helped blaze the trail for comedic vamps you couldn’t help but love.
AE: Well, thank you. Yes, that comedic aspect does come natural for me. I’m naturally drawn to humour. Any time you play vamp or villain — in order for the audience to love you — you have to make them lovable. If they are just one colour, it’s not a lot of fun. Adrienne and I have that in common.

TVG: But you’re not like the characters you play. In fact, in real life, you’re one of the most generous and kindest people I know.
AE: No one wants to see who I really am because I am so boring in real life! [Laughs] I’d rather play these fun, flashy characters. I love putting their skin on for just one day.

TVG: Soap Opera Digest recently celebrated its 35th anniversary and when I was deciding what my favourite all-time covers were of yours, I concluded it was One Life’s 25th anniversary with you in the red dress, James DePaiva, Bob Woods and John Loprieno. The Tramp and all her men!
AE: Me, too! That was my favourite cover. It was such a fun one to shoot.

TVG: I framed all your SOD covers in my bedroom when I was a teen. Do you know that you’re a gay icon to many a soap fan?
AE: You know, I do. I have such a great following in the gay community. It’s a great thing …

TVG: And you never age …
AE: [Laughs] Bless your heart!

TVG: But what’s your secret?
AE: [Laughs] No beauty secrets! I’m such a tomboy in real life. If I am aging well, it’s all by the grace of God and staying out of the sun.

TVG: It’s all that Mendorra water you drank! Even when One Life was No. 3 in the ratings, the show has always been historically tough to sell on a cover but you were the only star who appeared on SOD at least once a year — even long after you had left! Do you keep any of them?
AE: Not anymore! I lost them in a flood. I really need to get a hold of SOD and ask for back issues.

TVG: When you look back at that time, what do you think? You were a big superstar back then.
AE: Thank you; it was a great time back then, but the way I look at life is that it’s always a great time. It’s all wonderful. I’m very proud of what we did with One Life. I think it was a fabulous time back then for One Life, and it was certainly great for me professionally and personally.

TVG: I lived for your Daytime Emmy gowns! They were so outrageous. In fact, you were a pioneer in the “OMG, what is she wearing?” lists long before Hollywood got in the game and made it a cottage industry. What was that all about?
AE: It started out by me hating everyone wearing these ladylike suits. I was like, “Damn, where is all the glamour?” If you want to be taken seriously and considered glamorous, you have to dress the part; don’t dress like you’re going to Bergdorfs for lunch. Also, back then, I had an idea of what I wanted to be in this business, and I knew no one paid attention to who was on the best-dressed list, but everybody did know who was on the worst.

TVG: Not all your gowns were outrageous. I always loved your hair and makeup! So where is Tina Lord right now? In bed with a sugar daddy, ripping someone off or stealing someone’s baby?!
AE: [Laughs] Probably all of the above! [Laughs]

TVG: Would you return to One Life?
AE: I think at some point I will because I love revisiting Tina. And visiting all my friends there. I will rule nothing out! I would love to see what’s happening in Tina’s love life because that’s always interesting. She’s fun.

TVG: It was so amazing to see you and John Loprieno onscreen again, albeit briefly, when you returned to One Life. I felt like my old Tina was back.
AE: It was a shame we couldn’t explore that a little more. But I also loved working with Christopher Cousins, too.

TVG: Have you heard that Kim Zimmer is back on One Life?
AE: Yes, I have heard. I think that’s fabulous. You know, Kim and I go way back. I knew Kim back in Chicago. Kim and I had the same agent, so I’ve known her since I was a teenager. Long before I was One Life.

TVG: I thought of this other day: If you were to come back to One Life, the thought of you, Zimmer, Robin Strasser, and Erika Slezak would be a gay dream!
AE: [Laughs] That would be so much fun! I would love those scenes. When I look back at One Life, some of my favourite scenes ever were when Tina found out she was Victor Lord’s daughter with Dorian and Viki. The there of us were on the same set for an entire week. I think they’re my favourite scenes to this day.

TVG: Are you in touch with head writer Ron Carlivati?
AE: Yes, I love Ron. I know fans give Ron a hard time about my story …

TVG: [Laughs] I don’t know what you’re talking about!
AE: … but I really had a great time; I really did. I would trust Ron to write me another story any time.

TVG: Me too, actually. I know you are a food writer; any plans to publish a cookbook? Deidre Hall just released one.
AE: Good for her! I’ve been toying with a cookbook for years. I was a food writer during the Passions years. Fans started writing me for more recipes so I started a recipe blog just to try it out and get some feedback. That’s still relatively new, but if anyone wants to visit, please do! I’ve been a vegetarian for 16 years and my daughter has been a lifetime vegetarian. I love to cook! It’s something you never see my characters do! I think Tina did once but she burned everything!

TVG: Tina is a great cook … in the bedroom!
For Moore Evans, tune in to this Friday’s Suds Report to read how the Daytime Emmy-nominated superstar feels about B&B/Y&R’s renewals, her report card on how old pal Gary Tomlin is doing on DAYS, and the reason why her daughter is thrilled she’s back on B&B and not One Life.

Exclusive: Andrea Evans Returns
to The Bold and the Beautiful

Nov 8, 2010 by Michael Logan

Some things never change. And yahoo for that! Suds icon Andrea Evans is heading back to The Bold and the Beautiful after a 10-year absence to play Tawny, the trailer-trash gold-digger who spawned that royal pain Amber Moore (Adrienne Frantz). As usual, Tawny will be looking for a hand-out and intends to hit up her kid, whom she thinks is doing well in the L.A. fashion biz. She has no idea Amber recently got canned.

"Tawny has lost her job at the tollbooth back in Furnace Creek and she's lost her trailer, too," says Evans. "She's thinking her daughter is rich and will help her out — and, as always, I assume she's up to no good!" Evans briefly played Tawny on The Young and the Restless last spring but hasn't been seen on B&B since the wedding of Becky and C.J. in 2000. Her return airdate is set for December 29. The actress is currently booked for four episodes with the door left open for more, according to a B&B rep.

"I have always adored B&B and the way [head-writer/exec producer] Brad Bell writes for me," says Evans, who gained daytime superstardom back in the '80s playing vixen Tina Lord on One Life to Live. She also had a long run as the social-climbing Rebecca Hotchkiss on Passions. Notes the actress with a laugh: "There seems to be a running theme through all my characters. They all want money. And they're all pretty conniving — but what sets Tawny apart from the rest is that she's just not very good at it!"

For more deets on Evans return, check out the November 22 issue of TV Guide Magazine, out next week!

Andrea Evans B&B Return TV Guide

Andrea Evans Goes Back to
The Young and the Restless

by Michael Logan, April 06 TV Guide

Longtime soap fave Andrea Evans is returning to The Young and the Restless but she won't be playing Patty Williams, the role she did on the show back in 1983-84. That character is now a surgically altered wackadoo played by Stacy Haiduk. Instead, Evans will show up as Tawny Moore, the ballsy trailer-trash mama she created on The Bold and the Beautiful in 1999. Evans' Y&R stint will last just one episode—airing May 12—but it sounds like a hoot. Tawny hits Genoa City looking for her daughter Amber (Adrienne Frantz) and will get into a bitch-brawl with Amber's mother-in-law Phyllis (Michelle Stafford).

"It'll be dueling redheads!" says Evans. "Tawny and Phyllis are both strong, confrontational women and their scenes together are so much fun. It was great being back on my old stomping grounds. This brings together all of my favorite jobs—Y&R, B&B and, in a way, One Life to Live. [Paul Rauch who was Evans' boss during her golden years on OLTL is now exec producer of Y&R.] The only thing missing here is Passions!"

But Evans did have a Passions-like moment when she met the towering Haiduk on the set. "Not only did Patty have surgery to completely alter her face, she's also an entire foot taller these days," Evans notes with a laugh. "Apparently, if you want some really strange plastic surgery, Genoa City is the place to go!"

ANDREA EVANS IN STARRING ROLE
IN "HIT LIST" FEATURE FILM

Andrea Evans has been set for a starring role in the upcoming dark comedy independent feature "Hit List." Evans portrays a former beauty queen who left the pageant world behind and became a trophy wife and mother. In the movie, Evans' daughter, the film's heroine, is played by Shirly Brener ("Righteous Kill," "Blond Ambition," "Employee of the Month").

Andrea's character has her hands full with her family. Her son is seeking a career in rock'n'roll and lives in the basement. Her daughter is quirky with a history of anger issues. Things seem to improve for the daughter when she gets into relationship with an independent contractor played by Joey Lawrence ("American Dreams," "Blossom, " "Gimme A Break"). Soap for Hope

Andrea Evans has teamed up with LATHER to create Sandalwood Rose Soap, an all-natural, olive oil-based soap and a Soap for Hope Gift Set, which includes two bars of Sandalwood Rose soap and a natural wood soap dish. $5 from the sale of each Sandalwood Rose Soap and $12 from the sale of each Soap for Hope Gift Set will benefit the breast cancer programs at City of Hope, a leading biomedical research and treatment institution for cancer and other life-threatening diseases.

Evans will again serve as Celebrity Ambassador for City of Hope's annual Walk for Hope to Cure Breast Cancer events held in cities across the country. Evans, whose mother is a breast cancer survivor, will join survivors across the country, and their friends and families, to take steps to support breast cancer research, treatment and education programs at City of Hope's annual Walk for Hope to Cure Breast Cancer.

This will mark the eighth consecutive year that Evans has dedicated her time and efforts to the Walk for Hope and other related City of Hope activities.

"I am proud to once again be representing City of Hope's Walk for Hope in 2008 to continue my support of City of Hope," said Evans. "As the daughter of a breast cancer survivor, this cause is near and dear to my heart. I have seen firsthand what it takes to survive this disease and, if in the process of walking, we can save even one life, it is more than worth the effort."

LATHER develops products that draw on natural ingredients and are free of synthetic colors and fragrances. Ever aware of her large, loyal fan base, Andrea specifically wanted to create a soap that would be gentle enough for sensitive skin, and favored sensual sandalwood oil - possibly evocative of the salacious characters she has played on several daytime drama series.

"We are extremely proud to be partnering with City of Hope, which is such an inspirational and well respected organization, as well as Andrea Evans, who inspires millions of people every day," explains Emilie Hoyt, President and Founder of LATHER. "Both share in LATHER's mission to help others lead a more radiant life."

Sandalwood Rose Soap retails for $8 while the Soap for Hope Gift Set, which includes two bars of Sandalwood Rose soap and a natural wood soap dish, costs $20. Both will be available for purchase beginning in September 2008.

STATEMENT REGARDING ANDREA EVANS & "ONE LIFE TO LIVE"

"ABC and 'One Life to Live' were thrilled to have Andrea Evans reprise the role of Tina Lord after 18 years," said executive producer Frank Valentini. "Her return was made possible with the understanding that it would be short term as Ms. Evans’ life, family and home are on the west coast. OLTL did not ask that she move across the country in order for her to return to the show."

"The character of Tina is a very important part of the OLTL canvas and when there is an opportunity to have her (Tina and Andrea) return at a future date, the show would be happy to explore it."

Andrea noted. "I had a fabulous time bringing Tina back to the show and certainly hope that the chance to take on the role manifests itself again."
