We liked MAUREEN McCORMICK as Rebecca on PASSIONS, we really did, but we love ANDREA EVANS even more. We can't think of a more suitable headwriter James E. Reilly to pen for one of the daytime's best vixens, Evans, who rose to superstar fame as TINA on ONE LIFE TO LIVE.
Let's hope that PASSIONS dosen't make the same mistake B&B did by not keeping this acting wonder long term. Watching Rebecca and Pilar go head to head will be like revisiting OLTL's Tina & Maria battling it out again. We are so happy to see Evans back on the tube that we'll forget that she is to young to be playing Gwen's mother!

EVANS WILL WIN ONE OF NBC's SOAP TONS OF PRAISE!
PASSIONS Andrea Evans (Rebecca) has always treasured her privacy. "I've always been a public personality," Evans points out, "So I like to keep parts of my life private, off bounds."
By the time she was 10, Evans was a model. The actress just finished appearing in a play about five women in a cancer support group. "It was a very powerfull play and very painfull. I had to wear a bald cap." she explains.
The actress likes to do her work, be accessible to the press and attend public functions related to her acting projects and charity interests, "But I draw the line there. The rest of my life is private. I don't invite the press to my home."
Married for three years to husband Steve, Evans shares her home with pets. She speaks to her parents every day, unless she's out of the country. "If I have a nice or good qualities in me," says the actress, "it's because they've instilled them in me. They are my bestfriends"
